Installing your bath


Step-by-step instructions for the installation of Tub & Spa baths on bricks and mortar


1    Fasten timber supports (not supplied) to wall at a minimum height of 530mm. A spirit level must be used when fixing the timber (Figure 1).

2    Place bricks under the bath, the first of which must be 260mm away from the front wall. Add mortar mix which should be in the ratio of 3 parts river sand to 1 part cement. The mortar mix should not be too wet (Figure 2).

3    Place the bath in position on timber supports, make sure that it is perfectly level. The base must be imbedded in the mortar mix so as to support the base of the bath. At this point the waste and overflow should be fitted to bath. We recommend that the bath be half filled with water and left overnight for the mortar to set (Figure 3).

4    You can now build up the front and back walls around the tub, then plaster and tile. The walls are to be built up the underside of the lip of the bath (Figure 4).

5    Use silicone as a sealant between the bath and tiles (Figure 4).
